If you were an animal, what animal would you be?

A cat. There is no better life, providing you find the right home. I like the easy living, not to mention getting fed regularly, plus sleeping all hours and people taking care of me

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given or gave?

I once got a call from a business owner who was seeking advice after a disgruntled employee made threats that he had left a bomb in a bin at work. I thought it was surreal that the employer’s fist thought was to call me. Needless to say, I advised that he should seriously considering calling the police, rather than me!

What do you like about employment law/health and safety?

There is a wide variety of issues going on. You never know what call you’re going to take. It could be simple but it could also be huge and complex.

What do you consider the big employment law/health and safety issue for 2015?

Zero-hour contracts

How do you relax?

I’m an armchair football fan and support Manchester United. I’m also rather traditional and buy the print edition of papers, even the local paper like MEN.
