    Employment Law Consultant

    After graduating in Law at Newcastle University, Ember went on to complete the Bar Professional Training Course at Manchester Law School, before being Called to the Bar at the Honourable Society of Middle Temple.

    Ember prides herself on her meticulous preparation and excellent communication skills. She has previously undertaken a number of pro-bono projects and advisory roles, providing her with a wealth of experience of advising clients across a range of legal disciplines.  She has experience of drafting contracts and HR Documents, advising clients on various Employment Law issues, negotiating settlements, and tribunal preparation. This experience has provided Ember with a pragmatic and commercial approach to assisting clients.


  • Lindsay Parkinson

    Employment Law Consultant

    Lindsay joined the Army at 16 as a Military Accountant in 1976. Completing training in August 1977, spending time with various infantry and logistics regiments in the UK, 3 tours of Northern Ireland, 2 years in Cyprus, Germany, visits to Louisville Kentucky with 101st Airborne Division, Edinburgh/Cyprus with 1st Battalion Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, he left to pursue other interests.

    Joining Royal Mail in May 1985, his first role was operational dealing with measuring performance and quality of service,. Through a number of re-organisations he ended  up in Industrial Relations working with national and regional trade union representatives to facilitate change where local offices have reached an impasse. Working througha variety of different roles within the HR function including personnel planning, IR Project Manager, process management, project support office introduction and other change management initiatives. 1998 left to pursue other interests and spent 15months travelling to Australia to watch Formula 1 and America to watch Indy Car racing.

    Over the last 14 years working in the field of employment law, with a mixture of public and private sector experience which allows him to use the knowledge acquired to work with clients to develop focused solutions to meet the client’s needs.

    His interests outside of work are Formula 1 and motor sports and Genealogy

    Joy has over 25 years experience within HR and employment law. She is a HR professional with immeasurable experience in all aspects of personnel and employment law; this coupled with being a business owner, she has an excellent knowledge of how companies’ should meet their legal obligations. Joy previously worked as an international HR Director for a large US blue chip company, and was responsible for business partners in the UK, France, Germany, USA and Asia.

    In addition to her professional commercial and legal experience she is a race crew member of ‘Qingdao’ one of the ten identical yachts in the 2011-12 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, which provides a significant platform with some of the leading business professionals in the world.

  • Glynis Culley

    Glynis is a highly competent and experienced HR professional; priding herself on her effective communication and interpersonal skills, giving her the necessary edge in the delivery of any Employment Law advice to clients.

    During her role as an HR Manager for a high profile micro-electronics company (which employed a total of 3500 employees over seven sites in the UK and USA), Glynis assisted with the implementation of a companywide ‘Job Evaluation System’.

    This project involved writing a variety of job documentation linking through to salary pay scales. She was also responsible for implementing a Graduate Recruitment Programme for all the UK sites. Glynis was heavily involved in redundancy and restructuring programmes.

    Even though Glynis is passionate about her work, she still finds time for her pets; she has two two horses which she has had for the last 16 years. However at 19 and 24 years old they are now in semi-retirement and are happy hackers.
