Bio
Alan is an Employment Law Consultant in Avensure’s Special Projects Team, bringing extensive hands-on experience across multiple industry sectors. Alan advises clients on a broad spectrum of HR and employment law matters, delivering clear, practical guidance tailored to each business. He also develops and delivers training for the Advice Team and has conducted webinars for clients, helping them understand key HR and employment law issues. Alan’s journey into employment law began when he was elected as a trade union shop steward on his 18th birthday. He spent 15 years as a workers’ representative and Trade Union Official, before moving into a Health and Safety Manager role within a warehouse. Drawing on this experience, he transitioned to advising employers as an HR consultant, specialising in industrial relations, TUPE transfers, redundancies, trade union recognition regulations, and dispute resolution.
Responsibilities within the company
Alan provides advice across all HR matters, with particular focus on industrial relations, TUPE transfers, redundancy processes, and dispute resolution. He ensures that clients receive legally compliant, best-practice guidance while offering practical options and clear explanations of processes to reduce stress and enable informed decision-making. Alan also contributes to internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the Advice Team.
